The Juneteenth celebration commemorates the emancipation of 1865 and also symbolizes the celebration of freedom for all Americans.
The celebration will have live jazz music and various food including Louisiana dishes, traditional African American dishes, and BBQ. There also will be crafts, games, authors, poets, and artists.
Festivities, which are free and open to the public, begin at 9 a.m. and will continue through 6 p.m.
